WEEK: 51

This week has been fun. Many of the appointments we had canceled due to the mid autumn festival, a big deal in Taiwan. While biking, the neighborhood streets are just filled with smoke because every single family is having a bbq. In order to celebrate, me and my companion today ordered a meal slightly better then instant noodles. Our meal came with half an egg and 2 small pieces of mystery meat. Oh and we got to take a small boat to get to the restaurant.

Today we went to Danshui which is a touristy part if Taiwan, known for its fair like food. We also had a basketball tournament. If your asking yourself who won, you don't know me that well. I play basketball every breathing second. A champion at basketball and everything else.

This week we have been able to meet one of our investigators named Jim. He has been super interested in our message and has recently been applying prayer and reading the book of Mormon! He has also taken interest in the church history and have been able to teach him lots. Unfortunately he can't come to church for the next 2 months because of his very busy work schedule.

Here are some pictures from today

Week 49:

Originally we had a plan to go to an amusement park but due to the rain, the park was closed. Then it was decided to go ice skating, which is certain death for me. That was closed today because of a competition. Now we are at an arcade. You pay by the hour rather then the game. Interesting concept. We are bowling right now and if your asking who is in first place, please refer to the return address of this email. Thank you

Highlights of this week. We were able to do more member work. We were able to meet the members during dinner, which they were happy to buy us super expensive meals. That you see in the pictures, 50g of beef, I ate about 35 grams, no need to applause. But I definatley felt sick afterward.

The than that we have been working hard and efficiently to find more investigators. The people in this area are busier then usual.

Week 48:

This week was quite interesting because half of the week was spent outside of our area. We had exchanges for the first time this transfer and we got to teach a whole lesson in English. While in English, the lesson was quite difficult as most of the lesson was a Bible bash. We were able to address all of his questions but he was still stuck on his own beliefs. That's OK because he will come around soon. And OK this same exchange, my companion was able to find a new investigator. Which is crazy because finding new investigators from our area is rare.

My companions also had a baptism in our last area called Zhongli. It was super fun. I only had a little time to meet my companions friends but it was a real good time.

We have this mountain in our area and on Saturday we biked up it. Took about 2 hours. All uphill. About 6 miles one way. I had to take a break once and walk my bike once, something I haven't done since 7th grade when I had to ride my bike to school. My body was drenched when we got at the top. We met someone who had a $10,000 USD bike imported from Italy. It has the world's lightest Bike tires on it. We talked to people on top of the mountain (which were a surprising amount), but everyone seemed tired from the commute up the mountain haha. Oh and I also rode my bike in this gutter and my got caught in this pothole and I almost flipped over my handlebars. That would have made a good story.

We also had an RC fireside and one of my RC's said the closing prayer which was super cool. It was cool being able to see members and friend from my last areas.
