Week 55:

This week miracles happened. 5 months ago, I found an investigator that had led to the contribution of over 7 companionships to be baptized. Last week Aileen messaged me that she was holding her baptismal service on October 20th. Jeelong was just close enough that we were able to attend. Any further and it would be against the rules to go. When I arrived, I was greeted with loud screams from Aileen and a couple other of my Recent converts. The service was a very spiritual experience, with 14 missionaries and many more church members supporting Aileen.

Aileen was an English class student while I was serving in Jeelong. She was introduced to many Jeelong church members at my surprise birthday party when we accidentally set up a teaching appointment with her at the same time. Luckily, it wasn't awkward and she made a good relationship with the members. I was able to teach her a couple lessons before she had to move south to meet her family. In that area, she didn't have interest in meeting new missionaries, until she found out that her friend was also investigating the church. After many months, she moved back to her home in Jeelong and was baptized. I'm thankful to be a part of Aileen's conversion.

Today we were able to meet a member in Zhongli to celebrate his birthday. About 30 missionaries came and we all celebrated by eating at a Korean BBQ buffet, one of the nicest restaurants I've ever been to. Afterward we went to a drink shop and we all ordered chocolate shakes. He also shared to us his conversion story. He thanked all the cute missionaries for coming by paying for all of the expenses. And it was expensive.

We also had zone conference, but my p-day is ending.

And Trever is probably getting his mission call this week! I'm also waiting for you Alan. We will baptize all Taiwan. My doods.

Until next week and enjoy the pictures.

Week 54:

Here is a short general email written in my short amount of time:

*The bishop has started trusting us more recently. This week he has set up 2 dinner appointments with LAs that we will all be visiting. Sometimes missionary work has to start with reactivating members before finding new people. This trust will definitely boost the Lord's work in Luzhou.

*Today, we went to Taipe and hiked Elephant Mountain. It was fun but our time was cut short when we found out that the black dots on our legs were mosquitos. The mosquitos were quick, but I was quicker. Only 11 bites for me

*Conference was also amazing. The Prophets were inspiring. Recognizing that the nicknames of the church left our Christs name surprised me. I'm thankful for the guidance of prophets.

A Moment of Fame

WEEK 53:

How I became famous in Taiwan began with the parade that I was able to participate in. The parade wasn't in our area, but over 20 missionaries were at the parade and even the mission president showed up. Many members were there and the float they made was also on the news. It was fun being able to dance and lead our group for a while. My dancing moved many emotionally. It went something like this: I danced, the spectators questioned there eyes, I was a sight that they weren't able to look away from. Thanks Trever and Alan for perfecting my dance moves to the max. Nobody in Taiwan will forget.

This week out mission president has urged us to have shorter lessons and a stronger spirit present. We had a 15 minute lesson with Peggy, who has a baptismal date. We shared the importance of church, prayer, and the scriptures in a short and powerful 15 minute lesson.

We are also trying to work with the ward to do more missionary work. Recently we have had 1 activity, a movie night watching meet the Mormons. A whole 5 members showed up and an investigator. But sucsess rarely follows the first attempt. We are still working to have good relationships with the members.

We were also able to go to a nice restaurant today with a member outside our Area. I ordered duck noodles and he ordered squid pasta with ink? Haha not quite sure why the noodles are black.
